However - a few comments .. <br>Two means of growing profit / positioning are mentioned; be cheap or produce high quality (or both but this is difficult ..) - but what about expanding in the market (eg by branding,) explore new products or new markets - (ANSOF matrix approach). <br>One thing I Also would really like to get addressed - but is missing .. <br>When you have a startup; You can be agile you and do a targeted and strategic positioning .. <br>However; When you are a well established company with a broad coverage of products in your market - should you start cutting markets / segments / products in order to become a more target / differentiated position .. consequently actually shrinking your business .. What if you are in a contented (profit) shrinking industry - do you have a choice?<br>Basically - my point is it is easy when you grow / startup to decide direction; if you are already all-over I think it is a much more challenging situation; both in terms of how agile you are and what is actually smart to do ..
